St Augustine Beach

We are having a very unusual winter here.  Sunday it was cold and rainy, today it is warm and sunny.  Tomorrow it will be 80 degrees.  This is why I love being here.  I am not looking for the snow shovel or ice scraper.  If it is too cold to go to the beach, I can go to tjhe outlet mall or to a movie.  Tomorrow I can be on the beach again.  How special is that.  You still have time to get a condo for the winter.  Winter Deals are available now.  I hope to see you in January.

Happy Thanksgiving

Everyone is hustling around to get ready for the Holiday.  The day has been rainy, but tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful.  But even if it rains it will be wonderful.  We need the rain.

One of the good things about living in St. Augustine is that any weather is good.  You can be on the beach if it rains or shines.

Coastal Realty wishes all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Getting Ready for the Nights of Lights

Today my maintenance man was shopping for lights to put in one of our properties to get ready for the Nights of Lights.  We light up the city on November 21, 2009 at 5:30 pm.  The whole city will be bathed in white lights.  The white lights commemorate the times that the residents of the city put white candles in all of their windows at Christmas.  The same night there is a Historoic Weapon Firing Demonstration at the Castillo San Marcos, a Candlelight Night Prayer at the Catheral Basillica of St. Augustine and a Betty Griffin Benefit Concert featuring Stephan Robinson at 7:30 pm at the Memeorial Presbyterian Church, 36 Sevilla St.

If you are in St. Augustine for the Lights, you can go to the Amphitheatre for Winter Wonderland.  You can skate, go down the Ice Slide take a carriage ride and make s'mores on the fire pit.  Winter Wonderland is open from November 20th until January 3rd.

Starting November 22nd through January 31st, you might want to take the Holly Joly Chirstmas Trolly Tour.  There is caroling, hot apple cider and homemade cookies on the trolly to add to the fun.  Tours depart continuously between 6 and 8 pm from the St. Augustine Information Center located at Castillo Drive and San Marco Ave,

This is just a few of the events going on during the Holiday Season.  Now is the time to come to the Magical Christmas City of St. Augustine.  We have Room at the Inn. http://www.coastalrealtyfl.com/

Beautiful St. Augustine Beach

This weekend, I went to the beach and watched the kids and dogs running on the beach. As usual I spent more time than I planned just enjoying. We don't realize how much we need a break until we finally take one. This is such a good time to come to ST Augustine.  Check out our Specials.

November in St. Augustine

We made it through October without any hurricanes. We only have 28 days left in the Season. That's good for the people who live here and for the guests.

On October 21, 2009 there was a parade of over 1,000 Harley's. That was a sight to see. The different clubs had their flags flying. Makes you want to own a Harley.

One of the rental agents was down in the Old City yesterday and said they are getting the lights ready for the Nights of Lights. This is a beautiful time of the year in St. Augustine. It is warm enough to walk on the city streets but the lights get you ready for Christmas.

We have plenty of condo's ready for you to come and see our City.

Warm Weather Is Here Again

It was warm again this morning. The bikers will be riding today. Having come from the north, it is great to have 75 degree weather in October. St. Augustine Beach is beautiful this time of year. You can walk the beach in some solitude. The kids are in school so the grownups get a chance to be on the beach. Wish you were here.

Biketober

This week is Biketober in Daytona Beach.  The good thing for St. Augustine is that many of the bikers like to come to the Old City and  be on our beach.  While I was driving on A1A today I saw some beautiful bikes.  However the weather is pretty cool today so I did not see as many as I saw this weekend.  Tomorrow is supposed to be 80 degrees so I will probably see many more.  You still have time to come in for the weekend.  Check out the specials at all of our properties. http://www.coastalrealtyfl.com/.

St. Augustine Beach and Tennis Resort

Today I walked through St. Auguatine Beach and Tennis Resort. Boy was I surprised. All of the buildings had new red roofs and have been painted. Some of the buildings are yellow and some are peach. What a nice change. Click here to see all of the changes.  They even put pavers on the pool deck.  Great look!!!

If you are interesed in coming to St. Augustine next weekend you could see Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Amphitheater.  The tickets are on sale at Ticket Master.  The amphitheater is wonderful place to see concerts.  You are outside in the beautiful Florida fall weather.  The venue is such that you can see the entertainers from every seat.  It brings back memories of the sixties when we all went to concerts at fair grounds and fields.

Well I have to go.  I need to meet my friends for coffee at the Beachcomer Resturant on the beach.

Beach Time

We are having a really hot fall.  The temerature yesterday was 92 degrees in ST. Augustine.  It broke records.  But that just means you can be on he beach or in pool longer.  We do get an afternoon rain but it only lasts a few minutes.

This weekend the beach was full.  I watched some kids playing football and they had a puppie that followed them everytime they ran for the ball.  The poor little guy was so tired, one of the boys had to take him to the girl that was on the beach with them and make him take a nap.  What fun it is being on the beach.

On Friday I went over the 206 Bridge and saw birds int he rushes.  I turned around and came back to take pictures, but by the time I got there the birds had all left.  I will catch them next time.

Have a great day and dream about the beach.

Waking on the Beach

Today I was walking on St. Augustine Beach and while I walked  I passed many beach condo resorts.  On the start of my walk I passed Island South near the pier.  Then as I walked I passed the road to go to St. Augustine Beach and Tennis Resort.  It sets back off the beach, but is within walking distance.  People who stay there can play tennis at Atlantic Beach Club.

This is a really long walk for me today.  I passed Ocean Village Club Condos as I came close to Dondanville Road.  That sure is a big resort.  They have two pools, tennis courts, shuffle board courts and a club house with internet access.

I will only walk another mile.  That will get me to Creston House.  That property has the nicest pool.  They have 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units and are right on the beach.

If I were up north I would want to come and visit any of these places.  Click here to see pictures of them

Saturday September 26, 2009

While walking my friend's dog on the beach I passed many other walkers and runners.  The breeze was wonderful.  The beach was not very busy.  Must be because the kids are back in school and the families have other things to do.  That makes it good for the walkers.  We are going to get summer weather for the next week\.  However the temperature is going to go down to the high 50's in the night on Wednesday.  This is perfect.  Come to see us.

September 22 Fall Equinox

Today is the fall equinox.  The time of year that the days and nights are the same length.  In the Fall the Equinox is the time that the days get shorter and the nights get longer.  The earth is going into it's resting period.  As I walked along the beach this evening a saw a group having a ceremony to celebrate the Equinox.  The wind was blowing in their hair as they stood on the beach and thanked their higher powers.  At the same time there were children running after the seagulls oblivious to what the group was doing.  That is the beauty of St. Augustine Beach.  You can be who you are without anyone making fun of you or trying to stop you.

This is the best time of year to be on St. Augustine Beach.  The sun is still shinning, but it is not as hot as it is in the summer.  You can swim or just walk.  Summer is still holding on.  It is not ready to leave.  Fall is gently pushing its way in.

Come join me on my walks on the beach.  http://www.coastalrealtyfl.com/

Wednesday on the Beach

Today is a very pleasant day on the Beach.  It is a little cloudy, but it is still nice.  The storms in the Atlantic have brought seaweed to the beach so you have to walk carefully.  At least we did not get he storm.  The rental staff at Coastal Realty is getting ready for fall guests.  Fall in St. Augustine is so great.  You can still wear your shorts and summer clothes but you can still celebrate the end of summer.

Bicycling in St. Auguatine

Last weekend there was a bicycling festival in St. Augustine.  St. Augustine has become a place teams of cyclist come to train and race. As I travel down A1A on the weekend, I see several groups of bikers.  This is one more reason for people to come to the Beach.

Fall in St. Augustine

As I said yesterday, I will tell you about some of the great places to stay in ST. Augustine.  If you like to be in a garden setting and don't mind a short walk to the beach, you would like St. Augustine Beach and Tennis Resort.  All units are 2 bedroom two bath.  You have use of a pool that is heated in the winter.  The Atlantic Beach Tennis Club is right behind the condo's.  Most of our guests enjoy the tennis there.

If you like to be pampered and want to stay in a more upscale property, check out our Premier Properties.  We have places that are on the ocean and some that are not.  They are all fabulous.

Many of you have heard of Crescent Beach.  We have nine different condo properties that we rent on Crescent Beach.  Some are more family oriented and some are upscale.  Take your pick.  Look at all of these great places on our website.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Birds in Paradise

Yesterday my sisters and I were driving down A1A and as we were passing the lighthouse, we saw an eagle in an oak tree.  It was so fantastic, that we had to turn around and make sure it really was an eagle.

Then today I was driving across the 312 bridge there was an Osprey.  As I was watching him, I remembered that hte local newpaper had had a contest to name the Osprey on the bridge.  The neame that won was Augie.

St. Augustine is really a great place to watch the birds.  You will see storks, egrets, herrons and if you are really lucky you will see rosey spoonbills.  This weekend was great for bird watchers.

Sunday on the Beach

This morning I am going to the beach to meditate.  Morning is always a great time to be on the Beach.  The early morning walkers and runners are making their trek to wellness.  Some just come to meander down the beach and look for shells.  This is a perfect place to be a people watcher.  I hope your morning is as good as mine.

Sand Sculpture

Today I went to the beach and there was a sand sculpture class.  The people had sculpted turtles, octopus and a King Tut. I got there late so the only people left on the beach was three young children working on their scupture.  They were all working very diligently on their art.  I sat for ever just enjoying their fun.  It is amazing to me that I could just watch and be happy.

Welcome

Welcome to my Blog.  I moved to St. Augustine Beach 5 years ago and I want to share the wonderful things that happen here with the world.
